A Nema 23 frame sterpper motor means a stepper motor with a frame size of 2.3x2.3 inches. A less smaller size frame is Nema 17.
Generally speaking, the holding torque is related with the motor length of a stepper motor which means, the holding torque value is larger when the motor body is longer. In other words, for same technical data, a 34mm length stepper motor gives larger holding torque value than a 28mm length motor.
