Brushless DC motors also known as BLDC motors, have much longer life span than brushed DC since there are no brushes to wear out. This gives you a better long-term value for your project. Another main advantage of brushless dc motors is its high efficiency. Brushless motors are also perfect motors for the application running at high speeds such as power tools and brushless blowers. In many cases, brushless motors are made as multi-poles, eg: 4 poles or 8 poles, which enhances the torque at the cost of speeds. In such applications, an extremely high rpm is not required but a high torque is nice to have.
